Foundations is an independent stand alone organization. Simply meaning that although we do enjoy working with other organizations such as clinical organizations we are not a part of another organization. Prior to coming to Foundations, for about 6 years, my life was a mess. I had no friends and spent the majority of my days isolating myself in my apartment. As a result, my mental health deteriorated to the point that the pain of my depression and other diagnoses led me to numerous suicide attempts. I should not be here today as a result of the severity of my attempts. It is only by the grace of God that I am here today. Once I started to attend groups at Foundations, I realized that I was not alone regarding mental health issues. As I started to open up about my issues I could finally start to feel the heavy dark cloud of mental pain begin to fade. I realize that my mental illness will never go away but through the classes at Foundations and the support of my peers, I have learned that my mental illness doesn't have to define who I am!!!

When I first came to Foundations my life was not clear and I fet as though I had no understanding. The more I come, I realize that life is getting more clear and I'm also understanding others. People can see the change inside and outside of my life. So what I'm saying is Foundations has changed me a lot. I am glad i came here. Before I came here my life was a mess. People at Foundations are very supportive and loving and they all show that they care about you and what you are going through. The peer support is really great, they are there when you need someone to talk to. I am very glad I have Foundations in my corner because if i didn't have them I would not be where I am today. So I suggest, If you need help or someone to talk to , Check out Foundations. It doesn't matter who you are, They Will Accept You. Big or Small; Black or White; Male, Female, or Trans....They will still accept you.

Foundations has and continues to play a significant role in the process of my recovery. Education and support have been provided through daily classes of interesting and enlightening topics. By listening and engaging in verbal interactions with the facilitators and peers you can increase your knowledge on a variety of subjects regarding Co-Dependency, Self-Esteem, Mindfullness, PTSD, Forgiveness, Spirituality and Anger Management. Additionally, AA Discussion, Adult Children of Alcoholics, and Dual Recovery provide help and hope for those struggling with addictions. Staff members are welcoming, pleasant, knowledgeable, and willing to assist with any questions or requests. I would recommend Foundations to anyone with a desire to enhance their recovery with Education, Encouragement, Hope, and Support. Sincerely Mike
